We print light in Dhaka.
3D Owala started because the lighting you can actually buy here is either imported and expensive, or cheap and identical to everything else on the shelf. There was no middle. We bought a printer to solve that for our own flat, and it turned into this.
Printed to order
Nothing is made before you ask for it
We hold almost no stock on purpose. When your order comes in, your lamp goes on the printer, usually the same day. Most pieces take between eight and thirty hours depending on size. That is why you can choose the colour: at the point you order, the object does not exist yet.
Finished by hand
A printer does not finish a lamp
Off the bed, a print has a seam, a brim and support marks. Every piece gets cleaned up by hand, then the socket and cable go in, then it gets switched on and left running before it is packed. If it does not look right, it does not ship, it goes in the reprint pile.

Local means we can fix things
Because we make these ourselves rather than importing them, a broken part is a reprint and not a write-off. If something arrives damaged, we replace it. If a piece breaks later, message us and we will usually print you a replacement part rather than sell you a whole new lamp.
